3 Reasons Why I Love Interior Design

As someone who has loved interior design since forever!  I often reflect on what drives my love for this creative and impactful profession that I'm so lucky to be involved in. Below are three key reasons why I think interior design is the best job in the world and the impact it has on our day to day lives.1. Expression of CreativityInterior design is a powerful medium for expressing creativity. It’s a field where imaginative ideas are brought to life in tangible, beautiful forms. From selecting colour palettes and materials to arranging furniture and decor, every element of a space is an opportunity to infuse personality and artistic vision. For me, each project begins with a blank canvas, ready to be transformed into a masterpiece. I relish the process of brainstorming concepts, sketching designs, and experimenting with textures and hues. Whether it’s creating a cosy, welcoming atmosphere in a restaurant, a sleek, modern look in a retail store, or a  home refurbishment, interior design allows me to manifest my creative ideas and leave a unique mark on every space I touch. The joy of seeing my visions come to life and witnessing the reactions of our clients is truly fulfilling. 2. Diverse Career OpportunitiesOne of the most exciting aspects of interior design is the variety of career opportunities it offers. This profession is incredibly versatile, allowing designers to specialise in different areas and work on a wide range of projects. At Ty & Mor, our portfolio is diverse, encompassing hospitality, retail, and residential projects. Each sector brings its own set of challenges and rewards. For instance, designing for the hospitality industry requires creating spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and comfortable for guests. Retail design focuses on creating environments that enhance the shopping experience and drive sales. Domestic refurbishments, on the other hand, involve transforming homes into personal sanctuaries that reflect the owner’s tastes and lifestyle. This variety keeps our work dynamic and engaging. Every project is a new adventure, offering the chance to learn, innovate, and adapt. The constantly evolving nature of interior design means there is always something new to explore.3. Positive Impact on People's LivesPerhaps the most rewarding aspect of interior design for me is its ability to positively impact people’s lives. The spaces we inhabit have a profound effect on our well-being, mood, and overall quality of life. As an interior designer, I have the privilege and responsibility of shaping environments that enhance the human experience.A well-designed space can uplift spirits, foster productivity, and provide comfort. In the hospitality sector, our designs contribute to memorable guest experiences, ensuring that visitors feel welcomed and relaxed. In retail, thoughtful design can create inviting atmospheres that encourage exploration and enjoyment. For residential projects, we have the honor of crafting homes that serve as sanctuaries, offering refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life.Understanding the needs and desires of our clients and translating them into spaces that improve their lives is immensely gratifying. Seeing the smiles on our clients’ faces and hearing how our designs have made a difference in their daily routines are the ultimate reward.Let us help you transform your space into something truly special.
